   Alger Hiss

   Alger Hiss ( 1904 – 1996 ) , membru Phi Beta Kappa , reprezentant New Deal in 1933 , director OSPA, executive secretary la Dumbarton Oaks Conference, ce a finalizat planurile pentru organizarea United Nations.

   In 1945 este membru al delegatiei americane la Yalta Conference . In 1945 este secretar general al United Nations Conference on International Organization (the United Nations Charter Conference) . Mai tarziu devine Director plin al Office of Special Political Affairs.

   In 1946 devine presedinte al Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, pana in 1949.

   A fost acuzat de spionaj in favoarea sovieticilor .
